Update: EEOC Hearing on Use of Criminal Records

In follow-up to our posting last week regarding the EEOC’s meeting to address the use of criminal records for employment purposes, below you will find links to the EEOC’s Press Release from this meeting and a link to a video of the meeting.

Verifications would like to encourage employers to take a moment to review this information. Based on the meeting itself, the panelists and the potential for updated guidance from the EEOC it’s clear that criminal record evaluation for employment screening purposes is a “hot topic” likely to impact all employers who utilize criminal background checks during their hiring, assignment, and/or promotion processes.
