POSITION: BUILD AND RELEASE COORDINATOR

Position Summary:

This is a full-time (exempt) position. Candidate will maintain, build, merge, and deploy codebase to multiple environments, including the VI production environment. Candidate will lead deployment and merge activities for release. Candidate shall also coordinate release information, release notes, and resources to successfully deploy solutions. Candidate will also work to automate the build and deployment process, and migrate to a CI environment.

This role requires little or no travel.

Experience

Previous experience or Associate/BA/BS degree in a technical field is required. Knowledge of build and deployment automation is preferred. Familiarity with Subversion, TFS, and other source control solutions desired. This position requires 3 years or more of build, merge, and deployment experience.

Professional Characteristics

Excellent communication/listening skills are critical to success in this position. Ability to manage multiple code changes in multiple codebases. Self-motivated, independent worker with ability to multi-task.

Additional Role Details

  • Reviews pending changes to the codebase to be merged for a release.
  • Reviews logs to identify build and deployment errors.
  • Coordinates the release and resources required to complete the release.
  • Creates and reviews deployment plan to complete a release.
  • Identifies differences between established standards and build and merge processes and suggests modifications to conform to standards.
  • Writes documentation to describe build and merge process and to describe releases packages.
  • Coordinates release notes describing additional features and functionality, defects that have been corrected, and additional details s requested by Product Management.
  • May evaluate proposed software or software enhancements for feasibility.
  • May develop utility programs to build and deploy solutions to our internal environments.
