POSITION: INTAKE SPECIALIST
Type: Non-exempt
Travel: Little to none
Location: Mitchell, SD
Shift: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Position Summary:

A full or part-time position consisting of some of the following responsibilities: processing incoming orders (applications), and follow-up requests for information. Related administrative duties may include filing and answering incoming calls.

Primary Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Reviewing incoming applications for completeness, legibility, authorizations, and admission of criminal record. When requested, confirm receipt via phone or email to client within two hours of receipt.
  2. Prepare incoming applications for further processing by appropriately sorting and placing in file folders.
  3. Run "Trace" reports when needed for application processing.
  4. Route applications to appropriate office locations as needed via FaxServer.
  5. Develop competency in use of the Data Verification System (DVS) for daily processing of work.
  6. Organize files for filing and/or file as time permits.
  7. Represent Verifications professionally and courteously.
  8. Prioritize workload.
  9. Participate in departmental and general staff meetings.
  10. Maintain a high level of accuracy in working with all client and applicant information.
  11. Keep confidential all applicant, client, and Verifications, Inc. proprietary information.
  12. Advise Leader of anticipated processing delays.
  13. Provide input for improvements in software functionality.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Professional Characteristics

  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • 32 wpm keyboarding.
  • Previous experience using a computer.
  • Customer service skills and orientation.
  • Good spelling, grammar, and phone skills.
  • High school diploma or GED or, if a student, is enrolled in an accredited school or course pursing a diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience helpful, but not required.
