POSITION: SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Position Summary:

The Software Engineer is responsible for development of software to support Verification's Software Applications. This person must be skilled with object oriented design, coding, performance tuning, and unit testing in a Microsoft.NET environment. This person must have in-depth technical skills and the ability to provide hands-on technical guidance for small project teams.

This role requires little or no travel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develops, and modifies, and implements software applications to support Software as a Services (SaaS), hosted, and client/server applications according to business requirements50
2. Participates in the requirements process through design and specification reviews. 15
3. Capable of documenting design according to companies process guidelines. Familiar with a variety of Service-Oriented-Architecture concepts, practices, and procedures. 15
4. Planning and performing proper unit testing of software code (including automated unit testing).

Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. 		10
5. Coordinate with IT management and business stakeholders on project schedules, resources and scope. 10

Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area, or equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft C# and asp.NET experience (Web Services, Web Pages, Business Rules Classes, Data Access classes, Window Services)
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience leading small development teams.
  • Familiarity with software architectural concepts and designs.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server.
  • High degree of competence is required with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Project.
  • 2+ years of SQL Server experience.
  • Networking and Windows Server administration (programming WMI, IIS, vbscript, batch files) skills a plus.
  • Software installation and/or automated build skills a plus.
  • Intelligence Concepts.
  • Microsoft Certified a plus.
