General Description:

Directs, plans and manages the company's Information Systems policies to assure the development and implementation of data processing, computer operations and related functions (communications, office systems, production activities, etc.).

As an advisor to the executive management team, participates in planning corporate growth and coordinating the strategic plan with the development of information systems

Primary Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Information Technology:
  1. Develops strategic plans identifying Information Technology applications to support business plans or create new strategic options.
  2. Plans and controls staffing and development, organization, hardware acquisitions and facilities for the information systems department to assure that they are consistent with and supportive of the business plans of the Company.
  3. Directs the design, development and maintenance of systems, programs, and systems software to meet the needs of the Company.
  4. Administers and controls the information systems expense budget to contribute to a cost effective operation.
  5. Maintains knowledge of developments in the area of systems and hardware to assure that new developments are incorporated in future systems of the Company.
  6. Identify and present hardware and software to ensure that computer capabilities are responsive to the needs of corporate growth and changing corporate objectives.
  7. Serve as liaison with management of functional departments on data processing matters in order to answer all questions, evaluate needs, monitor service, advise on problems, encourage data processing education and understanding, and ensure smooth conversion from manual to computerized systems, or from existing computer systems to new improved ones.
  8. Serve as main contact with representatives of firms providing data processing hardware, software and support service.
  9. Keep abreast of state-of-the-art developments through attendance at trade and professional meetings and seminars, trade shows, perusal of the literature, and use of supplementary educational activities.
  10. Supervise information systems department personnel, including specialists in; systems analysis, software engineers, data management, support personnel, etc.
As an advisor to Executive Management:
  1. Work closely with Senior Management to develop and implement strategies that support and advance the business objectives of the company.
  2. Demonstrate and promote adherence to Corporate Mission and Values.
  3. Advise other senior management of potentially problematic situations.
  4. Promote a positive, productive, proactive work environment.
  5. Represent Verifications professionally and courteously.
  6. Keep confidential all applicant, client, and Verifications Incorporated proprietary information.
  7. Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field, MBA, or equivalent experience.
  • Undergraduate degree, in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum eight years technical experience with demonstrated ability to integrate diverse technologies for optimum performance.
  • Successful history interacting with clients and prospects.
  • Six years experience in IT operations with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Minimum three years senior management experience with direct reports
  • Experience interacting with executive management
