Verifications, Inc.'s Substance Abuse Services Division Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification
First Substance Abuse Third Party Administrator to be Certified to the ISO 9001:2000 Standard
Minneapollis, MN — August 21, 2005 —Verifications, Inc., the leading national provider of employment screening services, announced today, that its Substance Abuse Services Division has been certified to the ISO 9001:2000 standard. This certification, like Verifications’ initial certification and all subsequent audits, yielded no major or minor non-conformances. No other company in the employment screening industry has achieved this level of success.
Verifications significantly enhanced its Substance Abuse Services Division with the acquisition of Live Response located in Bismarck, ND. The acquisition was announced last fall and, at that time, operations for the Substance Abuse Services Division were moved to Bismarck. Verifications earned its original certification to the ISO 9001:2000 standard in July of 2001 and was the first employment screening company to be certified to this new standard. The certification audit was performed by ISOQAR, one of the leading independent, third party ISO authorized registrars.

The ISO 9001:2000 standard was established in December of 2000 by the International Standards Organization (ISO) and specifies requirements for a quality management system to help an organization demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer requirements. All requirements of this international standard are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of type, size and product provided.
Maynard adds, “This standard is the world's most stringent international quality standard. Our commitment to a quality management system and maintaining compliance to such a high standard is one of the key factors for our continued growth. Verifications’ quality management system was designed and implemented in 2000 and 2001 based on the precepts and principles of ISO 9001:2000. The ISO Standard is the foundation of Verifications’ system for documenting and auditing all key processes. The system includes fully documented process work instructions, internal auditing, customer surveys and internal and external change management processes.
